“The ideas I stand for are not mine. I borrowed them from Socrates. I swiped them from Chesterfield. I stole them from Jesus. And I put them in a book. If you don’t like their rules, whose would you use?”
I had some fight this morning with someone very precious to me, and I felt really upset once it was over. I realized something today, which has been preached by all great philosophers for thousands of years. Hope I shall never forget my lesson & wisdom again, just wanted to write down few of my favorite quotes – my learning of the day:
- Avoid 3 things: Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain but it takes character and self control to be understanding and forgiving.
- It’s not so much about the logical stuff: When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but creatures of emotion.
- How to win an argument: The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.
- It’s about more than your words: There are four ways, and only four ways, in which we have contact with the world. We are evaluated and classified by these four contacts: what we do, how we look, what we say, and how we say it.
Hope these wisdoms will help me to keep my journey beautiful on this earth. Hope I can be a better person next time.
