It is the time of the year to reflect, and make resolutions. When I look back, 2015 was an eventful and progressive year.
The year 2015 opened with the preparation and execution of Hyderabad offsite with 100+ CXOs from CK Birla group. Then I went to establish the Delhi retail sales channel for Orient Electric, spent 5 months at various Delhi retail markets, did product placement, modelled pricing strategy, and ran marketing campaigns. I completed my MBA after 5 years of effort, and then went to Goa with my family, at the first trip of my little son. I have adopted a healthy lifestyle, got Fitbit HR for family, lost weight around 8 kg of weight (down to 70 kg), started regular morning walk, clocked average 10,000 steps, and climbed average 15 floors every day. We celebrated Adi’s first birthday at Kota, and then joined Microsoft at Gurgaon. I visited Mumbai for the first time, and stayed there for 2 months to work with Mahindra for Future Unleashed event, where I personally met Anand Mahindra, Satya Nadella, and received much appreciation for the execution. Then I returned to Delhi, and worked to close unique Snapdeal engagement just around Christmas. I did read few notable books, painted some good sketches, met and worked with hundreds of amazing people, adopted some good habits, learned much about new things, visited some nice places, and tried few new recipes.
I do not know what is waiting for me in 2016. I am sure it will be even more exhilarating, enlightening and entertaining. I want to return to my good healthy habits again, lose some more weight, read some great books, take occasional break from work and have great time with my family. Most of all, I want to focus on the work on hand, and do a great job of individual contribution, both at personal and professional life. Every day, I want to take time aside to write. Some of the writing I want to publish on my blog (and Twitter and FB post) every day. I want to be more deliberate and authentic on my approach, more determined and ambitious with my execution, more comfortable and open with others, and more fun and friendly person to be with.
I wish myself, my family and everyone a very happy new year. God bless.
